Happy National Cappuccino Day! Did you know that cappuccino was created in Italy in the 1600’s?  To commemorate this tasty beverage and holiday, here’s a kick of caffeinated cappuccino recipes.

Cappuccino Recipes for National Cappuccino Day

Creole Coffee – from our friends at Lavazza
Serves 1
Ingredients
1 cup strong boiling coffee
A shaving of nutmeg
1 clove
1 piece of cinnamon (a stick or dash of ground cinnamon can be substituted)
1 piece of vanilla (a teaspoon of  vanilla extract can be substituted)
Sugar to taste
Instructions
Carefully combine all ingredients and filter with a fine, mesh strainer (the coffee will be very hot).
Serve immediately and enjoy!

Easy Cappuccino Cake
Serves 6-8
Ingredients
1 premade sponge cake
1 cup strong boiling coffee
1 cup condensed milk
2 teaspoons gelatin
Whipped cream
Powdered cocoa
Instructions
Line a cake tin with foil and place premade sponge cake inside.
Dissolve gelatin into boiling coffee.
Mix gelatin and coffee mixture into condensed milk.
Pour mixture over the sponge cake so that mixture is evenly distributed.
Refrigerate for 3-4 hours or until set.
Serve with whipped cream and dust with powdered cocoa and enjoy!

Cappuccino Pancakes
Ingredients
Your favorite pancake mix
Dark roasted coffee, room temperature
1 T dry or non-dairy creamer
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
Whipped cream
Instructions
Prepare your pancake mix as directed.
Substitute coffee for water, add 1 T dry creamer, and ¼ tspn ground nutmeg for every cup of mix used.
Follow cooking instructions and serve hot with fresh whipped cream.
