Maggiano’s Little Italy New World Italian Features

Our New World Italian features offer a broader selection of entrées. Jeff Mann, Senior Manager of Culinary, describes the flavors and new options for Guests available Thursday, Feb. 28 through Wednesday, April 24.

Four great entrées are featured in New World Italian that are a little back-to-basics in approach, but tie-in sophistication and upgrades that create Memorable experiences. We traveled to Southern Italy in flavor and took an approach with fresh cues from the Mediterranean region.

New World Italian Features - Chicken Caprese

Beginning with Chicken Caprese, I took our existing menu item from the Dining room and Banquets, and made it more contemporary with grilled focaccia. In place of orzo, I added grilled asparagus and topped everything off with fresh Mozzarella. At lunch this dish is offered with one piece of chicken to carry out the lighter side behind the inspiration of the whole menu.

Thinking about the coast, lighter seafood options come to mind, and Guests can choose from the Grilled Shrimp Lemonette or the Grilled Salmon Capri. The Grilled Shrimp offers vibrant colors and packs great flavor with radishes and snap peas. I added a new flavor with the Grilled Salmon by incorporating tangy yogurt sauce with tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions and fresh herbs. Kalamata olives add a finishing touch on this Mediterranean-inspired fare.

With the success of the Grilled Sirloin during our Seasonal Features, I continued using this great cut of meat that’s priced for all Guests to enjoy. The Tuscan Herb Sirloin Medallions feature mushrooms in a bigger way than usual and the herb and sun-dried vinaigrette brings the dish together to make it a little lighter than other steak options on our menu.

Finally, the Chocolate Marshmallow Torte is a fun and playful dessert option for the kids at heart. It’s an upgraded s’more reminiscent of days around a campfire, minus the work and sticky mess. Encourage your Guests to treat themselves with this delicious graham cracker crust, Belgian-chocolate ganache and homemade marshmallow topping!

Chicken Caprese
Marinated Grilled Chicken with Heirloom Tomatoes, Black Olive Tapenade and Fresh Herbs topped with Fresh Mozzarella and Balsamic Glaze, served with Grilled Asparagus and Foccacia

Grilled Shrimp Lemonette
Grilled Marinated Shrimp served on a bed of Orzo with Snap Peas and Fresh Herbs, topped with a Lemon Vinaigrette, Sliced Radishes and Fresh Basil

Grilled Salmon Capri
Seared Grilled Salmon topped with a Tangy Mediterranean Sauce made with Non-Fat Yogurt, Fresh Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Red Onions and served with Tuscan Herb Roasted Potatoes

Tuscan Herb Sirloin Medallions
Grilled Medallions of Sirloin and Mushrooms topped with a Sun-Dried Tomato Vinaigrette served with Smoked Mozzarella Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Grilled Asparagus

    Looks delicious…I can’t wait to try them all.  :-)  Everything at Maggiano’s is very well priced and tastes wonderful.  I wish we had one in Virginia Beach, VA.  The closest is Washington DC and I make sure to eat at Maggiano’s everytime I go there.

    I ate in  an Italian restaurant in Milwaukee WI not too long  ago and the food was delicious but the place looked and felt so familiar.  The waiter said yes they had a place in Phila.  I knew then that I had eaten there during the Flower Show and my friend and I will do it again this week.  Great food and decor.

    The Chocolate Marshmallow Torte was to die for! I wish they would make this a permanent addition to the menu. My boyfriend who normally doesn’t partake in desserts couldn’t stop eating it! It also supports a great cause. If you enjoy dessert try it!

    your food is  very good but the lasagna has too much ricotta cheese in it.–one layer of that is enough–try one layer of provalon or mozzarella!
