Maggiano’s Little Italy New World Italian Features

by Jeff Mann, Dallas, TX | Written on February 28, 2013

Available February 28 – April 24*

Our New World Italian features offer a broader selection of entrées. Jeff Mann, Senior Manager of Culinary, describes the flavors and new options for Guests available Thursday, Feb. 28 through Wednesday, April 24.

Four great entrées are featured in New World Italian that are a little back-to-basics in approach, but tie-in sophistication and upgrades that create Memorable experiences. We traveled to Southern Italy in flavor and took an approach with fresh cues from the Mediterranean region.

New World Italian Features - Chicken Caprese

Beginning with Chicken Caprese, I took our existing menu item from the Dining room and Banquets, and made it more contemporary with grilled focaccia. In place of orzo, I added grilled asparagus and topped everything off with fresh Mozzarella. At lunch this dish is offered with one piece of chicken to carry out the lighter side behind the inspiration of the whole menu.

Thinking about the coast, lighter seafood options come to mind, and Guests can choose from the Grilled Shrimp Lemonette or the Grilled Salmon Capri. The Grilled Shrimp offers vibrant colors and packs great flavor with radishes and snap peas. I added a new flavor with the Grilled Salmon by incorporating tangy yogurt sauce with tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions and fresh herbs. Kalamata olives add a finishing touch on this Mediterranean-inspired fare.

With the success of the Grilled Sirloin during our Seasonal Features, I continued using this great cut of meat that’s priced for all Guests to enjoy. The Tuscan Herb Sirloin Medallions feature mushrooms in a bigger way than usual and the herb and sun-dried vinaigrette brings the dish together to make it a little lighter than other steak options on our menu.

Finally, the Chocolate Marshmallow Torte is a fun and playful dessert option for the kids at heart. It’s an upgraded s’more reminiscent of days around a campfire, minus the work and sticky mess. Encourage your Guests to treat themselves with this delicious graham cracker crust, Belgian-chocolate ganache and homemade marshmallow topping!

I agree, where are the prices, plus it stated that I would get a $10.00 coupon if I sent my e-mail-coupon no where to be found on any of your links. Picano’s  did.

  • Bill

How ridiculous that the prices are not here or on the regular website.  Who does that?

  • Shell_2747

Looks delicious…I can’t wait to try them all.  :-)  Everything at Maggiano’s is very well priced and tastes wonderful.  I wish we had one in Virginia Beach, VA.  The closest is Washington DC and I make sure to eat at Maggiano’s everytime I go there.

  • B_goodenough

Shrimp sounds Great. Can we share that?

  • pallavicini

WE would also like the prices – it is a 45 minute drive for us.  so I guess I’ll have to call and check our restaurant day before.  love the restaurant.  JRPAZ

  • Christinacox24

I love to have the Chicken Caprese how much is it?

  • John Binkley10

Your specials such as buy 1 get one free and others are dine in only. you are losing my $$$ because of that policy

  • bw

Type in on google line “maggianos (name of city that the restaurant is in that is closest to you) menu” and then click on the link that comes up.  easy.

  • Kabal7016

Don’t worry about the prices, they are very reasonably. After you have their great food you will think they need to charge more.

  • Dphday

We dine there with some frequency and the prices are always ridiculously
reasonable for the ambiance and their food preparation and quality.    The one concern?  Make reservations!

  • Jimstevens

are you really that cheap?  Got to know the price?

  • Arlene Higgins

I ate in  an Italian restaurant in Milwaukee WI not too long  ago and the food was delicious but the place looked and felt so familiar.  The waiter said yes they had a place in Phila.  I knew then that I had eaten there during the Flower Show and my friend and I will do it again this week.  Great food and decor.

  • Carole

It would be “lovely” if you would include the price with these offers!!!!!!!

  • Maureenpoorman

Had the marshmallow torte yesterday OMG!!!!!!

  • Cradice

Food,Quality and service are always great but would like to see price for each item.

I agree if they would show price’s we would not have to call!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Carrie

The Chocolate Marshmallow Torte was to die for! I wish they would make this a permanent addition to the menu. My boyfriend who normally doesn’t partake in desserts couldn’t stop eating it! It also supports a great cause. If you enjoy dessert try it!

  • Alex Hero19

I like the food.  The price is my concern though!  Why don’t you include the price.

  • CAROLYN

your food is  very good but the lasagna has too much ricotta cheese in it.–one layer of that is enough–try one layer of provalon or mozzarella!

  • Mish

I’m seeing more of this on restaurant menus. “No Prices” With this economy what a turn off!! I have been a fan of this restaurant in the past. I was planning a dinner party there, but, with no prices on menu… I guess I will not be going there!

  • Sparkle Plenty

Have tried unsuccessfully to locate a lunch menu with prices. Can you tell me where this is located?

  • Bruce

Why is the Old Orchard location not listed above? Is it closed?

  • janwhyte

Is this new menu available in your Scottsdale, AZ location?

  • Jean

Everything sounds delicious, but how about a gluten-free chocolate dessert, e.g., flourless chocolate torte.

  • Mary

My family will be celebrating Easter dinner at Maggiano’s -dinner style and I am on a doctor prescribed weight program. My question is: is there a menu that I could choose from that would be more acceptable, and still join my family at the same table with the dinner style menus?

  • Sheila

Mary, my husband is on a special diet for heart and diabetes and he was allowed to order from the regular menu while we had the family choices.

  • salmon76

Had the Grilled Salmon Capri this past weekend over Easter in Northern California. Absolutely delightful & the flavor was wonderful. Thank you Jeff Mann for your culinary delights !! I will be back !!

  • Marlene

    dont see pricing

  • Bob77021

Hard to believe so many folks are whining about no prices being posted on the main website when all they have to do is find the location nearest them, click on the link and see all the prices on the menu for THAT location.

  • Marcie Sonderman Cook

What are the prices for these new specials??????
It does help me decide where to dine!

  • Vera

I had the Chicken Caprese on Thursday, July 11th and it was “Fantastic” and the price was right (smile)

  • Ali

Where do we find the nutritional information for the New World Italian Menu items, like the Chicken Caprese?
