Everyone from toddlers to grandparents loves cheese pizza however most agree that it can be a little on the predictable side. Why not add pizzazz to your pizza? After all, today is National Cheese Pizza Day!

maggianos little italy chef tips: add some pizzazz to your pizza‌

In a weeknight rush, fresh herbs lend a homemade feel to store-bought pizza. Adding fresh basil, oregano, and crushed red pepper to your pizza halfway through cooking will fool even the pickiest of eaters into believing it’s homemade.

If making pizza at home with friends or family, it’s all about fresh ingredients! Roast fresh grape tomatoes with garlic and olive oil in the oven at 450 degrees for 10-12 minutes.  Invest in fresh basil and find mozzarella from the cheese counter. Topping a pizza with all three ingredients will create a sophisticated cheese pizza and the results will be anything but typical.

If you’re really running short on time, call your favorite Maggiano’s Little Italy and pick up an Italian Flatbread. Our Margherita Flatbread is a modern twist on cheese pizza featuring oven-dried tomatoes, Italian cheese blend, fresh mozzarella, and basil.
