Kenneth is a 17-year-old Make-A-Wish® kid diagnosed with cancer. Before his wish to go on a cruise came true, Maggiano’s Little Italy Scottsdale welcomed him for a dinner he’ll always remember. Servers wore buttons with his face on them, and prepared some extra details – a cake with the logo of his favorite football team, plus enough Fun Size Snickers bars to tide him over until dinner was served.
The Maggiano’s Scottsdale team could tell how much the dinner lifted his spirits. But he surprised them all when he visited again to personally thank them all. Here are his words about the experience at Maggiano’s Scottsdale:
My experience at Maggiano’s Little Italy was nothing short of a dream come true. During the treatment of my head and neck cancer, I developed the inability to eat and drink. With nothing to do but wait for the side effects of radiation to disappear, I created a list of food types that I wanted to eat after I was ready. With Italian food topping my list, you can imagine the excitement that filled my heart when I was given the opportunity to enjoy the best Italian food in Arizona. Maggiano’s not only gave me the option to order anything on the menu, but also supplied that same courtesy to the rest of my family. The food was delicious, the people were nice, and the memories of this experience will last a lifetime.
